Summary

At the first time, I faced significant challenges as I was working alone and was not confident in my English skills. This made me feel anxious and unsure, especially about communicating well in unfamiliar situations.

During the activity, I had a lot of opportunities to engage in conversations with people. In Canada, I encountered various accents and way they speak. These variations made understanding and responding in conversations more difficult than I had expected. However, these challenges became valuable learning experiences.

Through these activities, my listening skills improved significantly. Different accents and way of speaking trained me to focus on the essence of a conversation rather than getting caught up in specific words or phrases. I also realized that it’s important to try to communicate by using rephrasing or gestures, even if my expression isn’t perfect.

This experience also offered me a chance to gain new perspectives by engaging in activities and conversations that I would not have encountered in Japan. It broadened my understanding of cultural diversity and encouraged me.

By studying abroad, I realized the importance of trying new things. Also, By challenging myself in an unfamiliar environment, I grew not only in my English communication skills but also in my ability to adapt and embrace different ways of thinking. This mindset will continue to guide me in future endeavors.
